A Hidden Bead Row Color Blend Straight Out of the Package

Video by Megan Anton, hair extension stylist.
After hours at Bond Bootcamp, hair extension stylist Megan Anton installed a Hidden Bead row in Ashley’s hair with Destination Hair Extensions. The blend went in straight out of the package. Nothing was custom colored, and there was no time to wash or prep the wefts.
In the video she says six wefts. Her caption corrects it: the row used 5 wefts, 100g in total.
The Hidden Bead Row: 5 Wefts, 100g, Three Shades
The wefts are 18 inches. Here is the exact breakdown:
- 3 London: one on each fold-over and one on top of the row.
- 1 Berlin: to add subtle dimension, like a lowlight.
- 1 Manhattan: to enhance the blend and add more variety of blonde tones.
Berlin and Manhattan were sandwiched in between the London wefts. See how Megan color matched these three shades with the color ring, including the base and level of each.
Adding Keratin Bonds Under the Row
Dannielle Vizzini added keratin bonds underneath the row, in London. Ashley’s hair is a little shorter in the back, so the bonds make sure the blend stays seamless underneath her window when she leans forward. Megan calls it a cocktail blend: Euro wefts and keratin bonds together.
How to Build a Three-Shade Row Without Custom Color
- Match the shades first. When the shades match the client, you can skip toning and rooting.
- Use the brightest shade where it shows. London went on the fold-overs and on top.
- Sandwich the dimension shades. Berlin and Manhattan sit inside the stack to add depth without darkening the surface.
- Fill short areas with bonds. Where the client’s hair is shorter, keratin bonds in a matching shade keep the blend under the window.
